Cianfriglia Maurizio, Ph.D.,
Dr. Cianfriglia is the Director of the Farmacogenetics, Drug Resistance and Experimental Therapeutics, Department of Drug Research and Evaluation at the Italian NIH in Rome. His current key area of interest is in the development and application of innovative technologies for the isolation of human recombinant mAbs and single chain fragment variable (scFvs) from phage display antibody libraries to be used for diagnosis and therapy of infectious, trasmissible and cancer diseases.
Other areas of interest:
- Characterization of drug transporter mechanisms involved in tumour drug resistance and bioavailability of anti cancer and HIV compounds.
- Structure/function studies of the MDR1-P-glycoprotein and other ABC transporters using a large array of specific mAbs and innovative technologies including epitope mapping by PIN and phage display peptide libraries.
Dr. Cianfriglia is the author of granted international patents in for the diagnosis and therapy of MDR tumours using specific MAbs and is a regulatory and GMP Expert ( EMEA) for biopharmaceuticals and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies.
